Supported by artists for
artists, the SouthCoast Open Studio Tour Weekend provides
the general
public an wonderful opportunity to have a first-hand look at local art
and
craftsmanship
flourishing on the Coast of Massachusetts and Rhode Island.
This event
brings together small independent studio artists who produce their own
work
and are eager
to demonstrate their creative skills and crafts to the public. Most of
these
artists and
craftspeople work out of their home studios and sell primarily through
galleries
and
craft shows.
Travel off
the beaten path to find these studios on the back roads, down narrow
lanes,
and in
local villages, far away from the malls and shopping centers, stopping
by each
artists' studio and shop from Tiverton Four Corners to the Little
Compton Commons
and the
quaint little SouthCoast village of Adamsville in RI, continuing through
Westport, MA, to the villages of Russells Mills and Padanaram in
Dartmouth, MA.
Get
acquainted with the artists and their work on a personal level.
Directions from Rte. 128:
Take Rte. 24 South. Follow Rt. 24S for approx 38 miles.
Merge onto I-195 East via Exit 4 on
the LEFT
After the merge, immediately get in
the right lane for upcoming exit.
Merge onto Rt. 88 South towards
Horseneck Beach via Exit 10
At the THIRD set of lights (approx
5.5 miles on 88S), take a LEFT onto Charlotte White (toward Drift Rd.).
